SOFIA Community Tele-Talk Series

The SOFIA tele-talk series has been retired. Yes, it's been fifteen years and more than three hundred tele-talks! With the retirement of the SOFIA Science e-Newsletter the tele-talks too are retired, a year after retirement of the facility. The archives of all of these talks will be preserved, we understand, at IRSA however where, in addition to all the research papers in journals, they will help represent the many accomplishments of SOFIA. All tele-talk presenters are thanked for their efforts, and the SOFIA staff as well, for their help in all this. Special thanks to Leslie Proudfit at the SSC for her excellent organizational efforts.

I myself (Dan Lester, SOFIA tele-talk organizer) have been working on behalf of SOFIA for close to thirty five years, starting with advocacy in both the science community and Congress. The development and research success of the observatory has been gratifying.

The fifteen year archive of ALL SOFIA tele-talks is now available from IRSA at

https://irsa.ipac.caltech.edu/data/SOFIA/docs/events/tele-talks/upcoming-tele-talks/index.html.

In most of the later ones, there is audio along with the slides, to allow them to be conveniently podcasted.
